Chelsea considering move for Wilfried Zaha
Chelsea have reportedly set their sights on a deal for Crystal Palace forward Wilfried Zaha on a free transfer.
There is currently a lot of speculation surrounding the 30-year-old’s future, as his contract with the Eagles is set to expire at the end of June.
Various clubs, such as AC Milan, Inter Milan, Napoli, and Marseille, have been linked with Zaha. Additionally, there is reportedly serious interest from Saudi Arabia.
However, the Daily Mail reports that Chelsea are also in the race to secure the Ivorian’s signature. The Blues are considering the possibility of signing him on a free transfer this summer.
The report further states that Mauricio Pochettino, who previously attempted to sign Zaha during his tenure at Tottenham Hotspur, could target Zaha again as he is expected to become Chelsea’s next permanent manager.
Chelsea are under pressure to reduce the size of their squad this summer due to their substantial spending in recent transfer windows. Consequently, it is anticipated that several players will depart from the club.
Zaha has been presented with an opportunity to sign a new contract with Crystal Palace, which would see him become the highest-paid player in the club’s history, earning £200,000 per week.
However, the frontman is keeping his options open as several teams have expressed interest in acquiring his services.
Zaha has made 456 appearances for Crystal Palace across all competitions, contributing 90 goals and 76 assists.
