Arsenal lead race to sign Victor Osimhen
Arsenal have reportedly entered pole position in the race to complete a deal for Napoli striker Victor Osimhen.
The 24-year-old is a highly sought-after player in the ongoing season due to his impressive performances on the field. According to Ciro Venerato of Tutto Napoli, several clubs across Europe are interested in signing him, but the Gunners appears to be leading the race.
The Nigerian international joined Napoli in the summer of 2020 from LOSC Lille and has been making waves ever since. He has played in 88 matches for the Italian outfit, scoring and assisting in a total of 62 goals.
In the current season, he has been in top form, scoring 21 goals in 26 appearances. The frontman is currently the top scorer in Serie A with 19 goals to his name, further cementing his position as one of the hottest prospects in European football.
As the North Londoners look to strengthen their squad for next season, manager Mikel Arteta has expressed a keen interest in signing another striker, with Osimhen reportedly at the top of their transfer wishlist.
Despite Arsenal’s concrete interest in Osimhen, the €150 million price tag attached to him could pose a significant challenge for the Premier League leaders.
