Manchester United frontrunners to sign Cody Gakpo
Manchester United reportedly seem ready to try to win the race to sign PSV Eindhoven winger Cody Gakpo ahead of the January transfer window.
The 23-year-old attacker has established himself as one of the brightest talents in the Eredivisie after contributing 21 goals and 15 assists in 41 appearances in all competitions last season.
He has continued his impressive form for PSV this season, scoring 13 goals and providing 17 assists in 24 matches.
Man United were strongly linked with a move for the Dutchman during the summer, but they instead pursued a move for Ajax’s Antony.
A recent report suggests that the Red Devils are preparing to reignite their interest in Gakpo as they look to find a replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo.
Fellow Premier League sides Arsenal, Leeds United and Southampton have also expressed their interest in Gakpo’s services over the summer.
Calciomercato claims that the Red Devils are at the front of the queue for Gakpo’s signature.
The report goes on to claim that an offer of at least £43m would be enough to convince the Dutchman away from PSV at the turn of the year.
