Liverpool have reportedly made a £20m offer to sign Douglas Luiz from Aston Villa.

The 24-year-old has scored six goals and provided eight assists in 115 appearances for the Villans since arriving from Man City in 2019.

With less than a year left on his contract, the midfielder’s future with the club appears to be uncertain after being linked with Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United in January.

The Italian clubs with the likes of AS Roma and Juventus are also believed to be admirers of the Brazil international.

However, the Birmingham Mail are reporting that Liverpool have submitted a £20m bid for the South American.

With the Reds struggling with an injury crisis, they are looking to bolster their squad before the transfer deadline.

The report adds the Merseyside outfit are prepared to wait until Luiz becomes a free agent next summer.
