Manchester United have not given up hope of signing Porto striker Evanilson despite a failed £55m bid, according to the Portuguese media outlet O Jogo, as quoted by the Daily Mail.

The Red Devils remain interested in signing the 22-year-old forward this summer in order to bolster the squad ahead of the 2022-23 Premier League season.

The report adds that United boss Eric Ten Hag has placed the Brazilian on his transfer wish-list this summer after the striker scored 21 goals in all competitions for FC Porto last term.

United made an initial offer of £55m that was rejected by the Portuguese giants – but the 20-time Premier League champions are being tipped to return with an improved bid for Evanilson, who has scored 25 goals in 70 appearances in all competitions over the past two seasons.

The Porto striker is contracted to the Primeira Liga outfit until 2025.
