Arsenal have reportedly “explored” the possibility of signing Leicester City star Youri Tielemans, who is in the final year of his contract.

The Gunners have been heavily linked with the 25-year-old midfielder, who has scored seven times in 47 appearances in all competitions for the Foxes this season.

Football journalist Fabrizio Romano reports that Mikel Arteta’s side believe they can lure the Belgian to the Emirates, especially if they qualify for the Champions League tournament.

Last week the North Londoners were believed to be closing in on a £40m deal for the midfielder, with the east Midlands facing losing the player on a free transfer in one year’s time.

Tielemans has a contract at the King Power Stadium until 2023.
