Arsenal are reportedly ready to lock horns with Newcastle United over the signature of Reims attacker Hugo Ekitike.

The 19-year-old has enjoyed a terrific breakthrough season with 10 goals and three assists in 23 appearances across all competitions.

The Magpies were failed in their attempts to land Ekitike in the January transfer window. However, they are expected to reignite their interest ahead of the new season, but according to Chronicle Live, the Gunners are also in the race for the teenager’s signature.

Ekitike has reportedly suffered a fresh setback which will keep him out of action for a few weeks.

Chelsea and Borussia Dortmund have also been credited with an interest in the centre-back, who is contracted to the Ligue 1 outfit until the end of the 2023-24 season.
