Arsenal lead race to sign Jonathan David?
Arsenal have reportedly edged out Real Madrid in the race to sign Lille striker Jonathan David, who is contracted to Ligue 1 side until 2025.
The 22-year-old has scored 16 goals along with providing two assists in all competitions for the French outfit this season.
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is believed to be targeting a frontman ahead of the new season and he will be keen to strengthen his attacking options for a top-four finish for next season.
According to Sport Witness, Arsenal will make a bid for the Canadian, while Real Madrid are only likely to make an approach for the forward if they fail to sign Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Braut Haaland.
David has scored 29 goals in 83 appearances for Les Dogues since his arrival in 2020.
