Real Madrid have reportedly taken the lead in the race to sign Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Braut Haaland.

The 20-year-old has established himself as one of the best young talents in world football and starred for BVB during the 2020-21 campaign, netting 41 goals in 41 appearances.

Barcelona, Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United, are said to be interested in signing the Norway international over the next 12 months.

However, according to AS, Los Blancos are at the head of the queue to land the centre-forward and will have priority over a deal when he leaves Signal Iduna Park.

The report adds that Real Madrid strong relationship with Dortmund has placed them in a strong position, while the Norwegian is thought to favour a move to the Spanish capital over anywhere else.

Haaland has chipped in with 57 goals in 59 appearances for Dortmund since his arrival in January 2020.
