Arsenal to rival Leicester City for Odsonne Edouard

Arsenal are reportedly keen to edge out Leicester City in the race to sign Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard in the summer transfer window, according to The Telegraph.

The Gunners are hoping to complete a swoop to sign the France Under-21 international ahead of the 2021-22 Premier League season.

The same article claims that the Foxes are in pole position to sign the Frenchman, who has scored 81 goals in 163 appearances in all competitions for the Hoops.

The Gunners or the Foxes could sign the 23-year-old forward for as little as £14m despite his scintillating form for John Kennedy’s side this term.

The report goes on to claim Leicester City have an advantage over Arsenal in the race to sign the frontman given the Foxes manager Brendan Rodgers worked with the Frenchman for nearly two seasons.

Rodgers was in charge of the Scottish outfit when the Bhoys signed Edouard on loan from PSG in 2017.

Edouard has scored 20 goals in 35 matches in the 2020-21 season.
