The defending Premier League champions Liverpool are in advanced talks to sign Real Madrid centre-back Ezequiel Garay, according to Spanish media outlet El Gol Digital, as quoted by The Express.

The Reds are in advanced negotiations to sign the 34-year-old defender in the upcoming transfer window.

The report states that the Merseyside giants could sign the Argentina international at the end of the 2020-21 season to solve the club’s injury crisis at the back.

Garay was released by Valencia in 2020 but he hasn’t been able to find a new club since the South American left the Mestalla.

The centre-back has won the Copa del Rey with Los Blancos and Los Ches.
