Man United join race to sign Schalke centre-back Ozan Kabak
Manchester United have reportedly joined the clutch of Premier League clubs hoping to sign Schalke centre-back Ozan Kabak in the upcoming transfer window, according to the Daily Mail.
The Red Devils are set to rival up to three other English clubs in the race to sign the Turkey international in the January transfer window.
The report goes on to claim that United are heading interest in the centre-back during the midway point of the campaign.
The 20-time English champions can expect to face competition for Kabak’s signature from league rivals Crystal Palace and Leicester City.
The current Premier League champions Liverpool have also been linked with a swoop to sign the 20-year-old defender but the Reds are focusing on “other options” for now.
The report adds that Schalke 04 would be prepared to sell the youngster for a fee in the region of £25m due to the financial implications of the coronavirus pandemic.
The Mancunian giants have been regularly linked with a swoop to sign a new centre-back as manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looks to find a new cover for Harry Maguire.
Manchester United will take on Burnley in the Premier League action on Tuesday 12 January before a trip to Liverpool on Sunday 17.
