Barcelona reportedly remain undeterred in their efforts to sign Manchester City defender Eric Garcia.

The Catalan giants are allegedly preparing a final bid of £7m for the centre-back, whom they intend to land during the midway point of the campaign.

Barca were heavily linked with the 19-year-old defender throughout the summer but were unable to get a deal over the line, with the Premier League giants reportedly holding out for a higher figure than what Ronald Koeman’s side were offering.

The teenager is now in the final year of his contract at Manchester and will be able to make a move away for free next summer.

The Camp Nou outfit will look to take advantage of the situation and confident of striking a £7m deal before the Citizens run the risk of losing the Spaniard for nothing in eight months’ time.

Garcia has boasts four appearances in all competitions this season.
