Liverpool have emerged as rumoured suitors for Besiktas centre-back Domagoj Vida, according to Yeni Asir.

The 31-year-old veteran is currently on the verge of completing his third campaign in Turkey.

However, the aforementioned report suggests, Liverpool are considering whether to hand the Croatia international a chance to move to the Premier League.

Although the centre-back chalked up 87 appearances since 2017, the Turkish outfit are said to be eager to get him off the wage bill.

The defender could be regarded as a like-for-like replacement for his compatriot Dejan Lovren, who is set to depart the Merseyside giants this summer.

Vida could be available for just £5million, a figure which will be viewed as a dirt-cheap in the current financial crisis.
