Chelsea are favourites to sign Middlesbrough starlet Calum Kavanagh, according to The Sun.

The Blues are looking to sign the 16-year-old striker from the Championship outfit after impressing for the Middlesbrough’s youth teams.

The report adds that the west London outfit are hoping to sign the promising Middlesbrough forward ahead of their Premier League rivals Arsenal.

The Republic of Ireland youth international would be happy to remain at Middlesbrough but the club haven’t offered him a contract that suits the young forward.

The report goes on to claim Chelsea are hoping to capitalise by swooping in to sign Kavanagh ahead of the Gunners, who are also keeping tabs on the teenager.
