Atletico Madrid are said to be in ‘advanced talks’ with Brazilian wonderkid Reinier as the Spanish giants look to bolster their squad.

Reinier, 17, has broken into the Brazilian club’s first team this season, scoring three times and creating a further two in the nine appearances since he made his debut in July.

Diario AS indicates that Atletico are in advanced talks with the teenager over a potential move in the January transfer window.

Diego Simeone’s side sent an intermediary to Rio de Janeiro to negotiate with the Brazilian last week, although they are yet to open formal discussions with Flamengo.

Reinier is believed to have a release clause of €62m in his current contract, with the La Liga outfit hopeful of getting him for less.
