Crystal Palace have reportedly expressed an interest in making a £5m move for Newcastle United defender Ciaran Clark.

Palace head-coach Roy Hodgson is believed to be after a new right-back and centre-back before the transfer window shuts down in just over a week’s time.

According to The Sun, Newcastle United centre-back Ciaran Clark has been targeted by the Eagles because of his Premier League experience, he also represented Aston Villa in the top flight.

The Magpies are said to be willing to cash in on the 29-year-old Irishman, though a loan move could also be on the cards.

Clark racked up 67 appearances for Newcastle United including 11 league starts last term.
