Manchester United told to pay £60m for James Maddison

Manchester United will now have to pay £60 million in order to sign James Maddison from Leicester City, according to The Daily Record.

The Red Devils are interested in a deal to sign the 22-year-old midfielder to bolster their attacking options in midfield ahead of next season.

The report adds that United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer might have a difficult time convincing Maddison to move to Old Trafford due to the lack of Champions League football.

The England international is unsure about how much first-team football he’ll get at the Old Trafford should the playmaker complete a move to the north-west giants.

The Foxes have slapped a £60m price tag on Maddison’s head ahead of the summer transfer window. Understandably, He would want to be assured of first-team minutes following a great breakthrough season in the Premier League.

Maddison has contributed seven goals and seven assists in 36 Premier League appearances to help the East Midlands finish in the top half of the table.

Leicester signed Maddison from Norwich City in 2018 following his impressive displays for the Canaries.
