Krzysztof Piatek joins AC Milan until 2023
AC Milan have completed the signing of forward Krzysztof Piatek from Genoa on a four-and-a-half-year contract.
The 23-year-old striker has been brought in by manager Gennaro Gattuso as a direct replacement for Gonzalo Higuain, who ended his loan spell at Rossoneri from Juventus to join Premier League outfit Chelsea in a temporary move until the end of the season.
The Poland international only moved to Genoa seven months ago from Polish outfit Cracovia but has been in impressive form since his arrival in Italy, netting 19 goals in 21 appearances so far this season.
Genoa are believed to have made a significant profit on the highly-rated striker, with the undisclosed fee thought to be in the region of €35million, and he will remain at San Siro until 2023.
Piatek, who will wear the shirt number 19, will be presented as a Milan player at 1 pm on Thursday afternoon at the club’s Milanello training ground.
