Jurgen Klopp wants to sign Besiktas defender Domagoj Vida
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp ramped up his interest in signing Croatia international Domagoj Vida this summer, according to Turkish media outlet Aksam, as quoted by the Daily Mirror.
The German boss is interested in a potential deal to sign the Besiktas centre-half as cover for Dejan Lovren and Virgil van Dijk at Anfield ahead of next season.
The Merseyside outfit are willing to pay £12m to sign the 29-year-old defender given his impressive performances at the World Cup in Russia.
He has devilled an incredible partnership with Lovren to help Croatia reach the semi-finals following spectacular victories over Denmark and Russia in the last 16.
Liverpool have already signed Fabinho in a £40m deal from Ligue 1 outfit AS Monaco earlier this summer to bolster their options in the middle of the park following Emre Can’s exit to Juventus on a free transfer.
