Mainz 05 striker on Newcastle United radar
Newcastle United have allegedly earmarked Mainz 05 striker Yoshinori Muto as their top summer transfer targets.
The Magpies manager Rafael Benitez has guided the club to a 10th-place finish in the Premier League this season, and the Spaniard boss has already started to keep an eye upon potential signings for the summer.
According to Calciomercato, Muto is on the radar of the St James’ Park outfit with Benitez keen to bolster his side’s attack ahead of the next campaign.
The 25-year-old has scored eight times and provided two assists in 27 appearances in the Bundesliga this term, but the Japanese international has just over one year left on his current contract.
With Muto could be available for a cut-price fee, a deal might suit Newcastle United as Benitez’s budget for the upcoming transfer window remains uncertain.
