Atletico Madrid have reportedly expressed an interest in making a surprise move for Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah in the January transfer window.

The Egypt international, who joined the Reds back in the summer, has blistering start to his life at the Merseyside outfit and has caught the attention of a number of European clubs, with the midfielder racked up 12 goals in all competitions already.

El Gol Digital reports that the Spanish outfit are now lining up an audacious bid for the 25-year-old winger once their transfer ban expires during the new year and are willing to splash up to £50m to lure Salah away from Anfield.

Atleti have drawn 5 of their opening 11 league starts to sit fourth in the La Liga table, while the Reds are currently fifth in the Premier League.
