The Big London Derby: Chelsea to Host Arsenal

The Premier League champions Chelsea are set to keep their dominance alive in the ongoing season as they host Arsenal at the Stamford Bridge on Sunday, September 17.

The Blues kicked off their campaign with a 3-2 home defeat by Burnley, but have won their next all games – including a 2-1 win against Tottenham Hotspur.

Antonio Conte’s side appears to be confident heading into Sunday’s encounter, while the Gunners needs a must win to get the critics off his back after a poor start to the season.

The west Londoners have won seven of their last eight home games and 23 of 26 across all competitions on their home turf, making them favourites to win this Sunday’s home game.

Chelsea are 4/5 favourites with Arsenal priced at 4/2 while the draw is a 27/10 chance. The reigning champions will certainly be confident to defend the title after bouncing back from their last three games, while Arsenal to travel Stamford Bridge having not won there since a 5-3 win in 2011.

Chelsea midfielder Danny Drinkwater is likely to be out until the October and will miss Sunday’s clash at home, whereas, Arsenal will continue to conquer the opponents without the help of duo Santi Carzorla and Francis Coquelin.

The two sides have already met once this season, with Gunners coming out on top on penalties in the FA Cup, but it is Chelsea who have made the impressive start to the Premier League season.

Arsenal’s another win this weekend would see the north Londoners move level with Chelsea. However, history suggests that Arsenal victory at Stamford is unlikely, though.

The Gunners have won three of their last four games with Chelsea including the Community Shield final this term.

Chelsea still have enough caliber to come out on top against their bitter London rivals, but Arsenal certainly cannot afford it to be another rout.
