Tottenham midfielder Eric Dier has reportedly expressed his desire to join Manchester United and wants to work under Jose Mourinho, according to The Manchester Evening News.

The England international is keen to sign for the Red Devils and could double his wages at Old Trafford.

The report adds that the 23-year-old midfielder grew up as a United fan and wants to join the Red Devils. He is reported to currently earn around £70,000-a-week at White Hart Lane.

The report says that Spurs are determined to keep hold of the midfielder but that has not put the Old Trafford outfit off in their pursuit of the Englishman.

It is suggested that the fate of Dier will now be calculated by how much the 20-time English champions are willing to bid for the player this summer.

Manchester United confirmed their second summer signing on Monday when they secured a deal to sign Romelu Lukaku from Everton.
