Manchester United consider Gelson Martins move
Sporting Lisbon attacker Gelson Martins has reportedly emerged as a transfer target for Manchester United.
Earlier this week, it was claimed that Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp had turned his attention to the Portuguese attacker after becoming frustrated in his chase of Roma’s Mohamed Salah.
However, according to O Jogo, The Red Devils head-coach Jose Mourinho is a firm admirer of Martins’s performance over the past few seasons, and will make an offer to beat rivals Liverpool to the signing of a 22-year-old, who has a £46.5m release clause in his current contract.
The five-time Portugal international has scored six goals and registered nine assists in 32 league appearances for the Portuguese outfit during the 2016-17 campaign.
Martins has also previously been linked with a move to European champions Real Madrid.
