Kevin Strootman extends contract until 2022
AS Roma playmaker Kevin Strootman has signed a new long-term contract at the Serie A club, keeping the player in the Italian capital until at least 2022.
The 27-year-old has endured a tough time in the Italian league since joining the Giallorossi in 2013 following a number of high-profile injuries, but the Netherlands international was finally able to put improvement in a string of his performances having made 45 appearances for the club this term, as well as helping his side to finish second in Serie A.

“This extension is special for me,” the midfielder told the club’s official website.
“I really want to win something here, and I will do everything I can to achieve that. Everyone at the club was behind me during my injury, and that is another reason I am delighted to stay.”
Strootman has scored four goals in 34 appearances across all competitions for Roma in 2016-17.
