Manchester United goalkeeper Joel Pereira is reportedly a summer transfer target for the Portuguese giants Benfica, A Bola claims.

The 20-year-old has only made one first-team appearance for the Red Devils earlier this season – but he is understood to be highly regarded by manager Jose Mourinho.

It has been reported that Benfica have identified the Portugal international as an ideal replacement to Emerson, who has been linked with Estadio da Luz.

It has previously been reported that the 20-year-old youngster will be offered a new deal at Old Trafford.

Pereira, who only appeared 16 times in senior football – will start Man United’s final league match of the season against Crystal Palace on Sunday.
