Liverpool are reportedly weighing up a January move for Porto midfielder Hector Herrera.

The Merseysiders were heavily linked with the Mexican maestro last summer, but it is understood that the Reds were not prepared to meet the asking price for the 26-year-old.

Juventus and Manchester United are both said to be interested in recent weeks and according to the Portuguese newspaper A Bola as quoted by Goal, Liverpool have also joined the race as manager Jurgen Klopp seeks to improve his options in midfield area.

Herrera joined the Portuguese outfit from Pachuca back in 2013 and has since gone on to make 150 league appearances for the Dragons.
