France will take on Portugal for yet another trophy in their home ground when they meet in the Euro 2016 final at Stade de France on Sunday.

The two teams had met twice in the European Championships – in 1984 and 2000. Both matches were played in the semifinals and both times France were crowned Champions.

Their only other clash in a competitive match was during the round of 1996 FIFA World Cup in Germany.

France have a strong record, they are leading with an 8 match winning run against Portugal in all formats.

If we go by the history, France are tipped to win this year’s Euro 2016 championship. Even if we compare their recent games, the hosts nation will once again beat Portugal maybe a wider margin. They will have a good home support advantage as compare to Portugal.

Moreover Atlético Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann is on fire after scoring 5 impressive goals in the knock-out stages and the goalkeeper Hugo Lloris looks almost unbeatable.

While on the Portuguese side – Cristiano Ronaldo factor will certainly play a major role here. The 31-year-old striker will be keen to end his international career with a major trophy and so they will be boost up for this final clash.
