Rory McIlroy Wins the 2014 British Open
Rory McIlroy of Northern Ireland wins the British Open Golf championship with a two-shot victory over Sergio Garcia and Rickie Fowler at the Royal Liverpool golf club.
The 25-year-old moved up to World’s No. 2, after winning his third major championship trophy on Sunday. He finished the 2012 season by winning his second major title and the money title on the PGA Tour and European Tour respectively.

“I’m immensely proud of myself,” McIlroy said. “To sit here, 25 years of age, and win my third major championship and be three-quarters of the way to a career Grand Slam … yeah, I never dreamed of being at this point in my career so quickly.”
The Ulsterman joined Tiger Woods and Jack Nicklaus as the only golfers to achieve this milestone to win three major victories by the age of 25.
