NZ spinner McCullum to retire from cricket

New Zealand off-spinner Nathan McCullum has decided to announce his retirement from international cricket at the end of the summer.

The 35-year-old, who made his debut in a Twenty20 international against South Africa in 2007 – has played 84 ODIs and 61 T20 internationals for Black Caps.

The ex-Lancashire and Glamorgan player told the New Zealand Herald he wanted to spent more time with his family and will help to prepare the next generation of limited-over spinners.

New Zealand to play limited-overs series against Australia, Sri Lanka and Pakistan in the next four months.

McCullum was part of the Black Caps squad that reached World Cup final earlier this year, although he was not picked to play.
