Rafael Nadal qualifies for Nitto ATP Finals 2018

World No. 1 Rafael Nadal became the first player to qualify for the 2018 Nitto ATP Finals, to be held this November at The O2 in London.

The 17-time Grand Slam champion becomes the first singles player to achieve a spot in the Nitto ATP Finals after defeating Stan Wawrinka 7-5, 7-6(4) in round three of the Rogers Cup on Friday night.

Nadal, 32, who has won the Canadian Open three times is now two wins away from his 33rd career Masters 1000 title. He will face Karen Khachanov in the 2nd semi-final on Saturday.

The 21-year-old German Alexander Zverev is currently second in the race to the O2, followed by Roger Federer, Juan Martin Del Potro, Novak Djokovic, Marin Cilic, Dominic Thiem, and Kevin Anderson.
