Manchester City are ready to pounce for the Brazil international by tabling a £88m bid for Juventus winger Douglas Costa.
The 27-year-old, who spent last season on loan at the Italian outfit from Bayern Munich, made his stay in Turin permanent, signing for the Serie A champions for £35m.
News outlet Sport Mediaset as quoted by The Sun claims, however, that Manchester City head coach Pep Guardiola has not been deterred by the move and is considering a £88m bid to lure the Brazil international to the Etihad.
The South American, who is currently on international duty for the World Cup in Russia, would be one of several Brazilians at the Etihad including Ederson, Gabriel Jesus and Fernandinho.
Costa signed for the Bavarians from Shakhtar Donetsk for £25m in 2015 while Guardiola was the manager of the Bundesliga champions.
