Arsenal have reportedly expressed an interest to splash out £57m for Napoli forward Piotr Zielinski, according to Italian outlet Corriere dello Mezzogiorno as quoted by Mirror.
The 23-year-old midfielder is rumoured to be a long-term target for Premier League rivals Liverpool, who missed out on to sign him two years ago.
The report adds, however, the Gunners are about to usurp the Reds in the race to sign Zielinski as they are happy to splash out £57m to trigger the release clause in the midfielder’s contract.
The north Londoners are said to have prioritised signing the Poland international, despite not knowing who will be the next manager at the Emirates Stadium from next season.
Zielinski has scored four goals and provided two assists in Serie A this season, while he also scored thrice in European competition.
