Villarreal defender Mateo Musacchio is the subject of interest from the Premier League giants Chelsea, according to TransferMarketWeb as quoted by Mail.
The Blues manager Antonio Conte has already had the Argentine scouted ahead of a possible January bid.
The Italian boss is desperate to strengthen his defensive options, despite signing both Marcos Alonso and David Luiz this summer.
As per the recent reports, Conte was ready to offload Gary Cahill and Branislav Ivanovic out of his future plans from the west London, while the veteran John Terry will be out of contract at the end of this season.
Musacchio arrival to the Stamford Bridge would certainly add some potential to the club’s’ backline, having made more than 150 appearances for the Spanish club.
Musacchio is currently tied to his club until the summer of 2018 and the report claims he could be available up to £26m.
