FC Barcelona have confirmed that the Uruguayan star Luis Suarez will be able to make his La Liga debut in the El Clasico against bitter rivals Real Madrid at the Bernabeu on October 25 at 5PM GMT.

Suarez was signed by Barcelona from Liverpool in a reported £75m deal earlier in the summer but has been unable to feature in La Liga as the 27-year-old is currently serving a ban for biting an Italian defender Giorgio Chiellini during the FIFA World Cup.

However, the Catalan club have issued a statement confirming the four-month suspension ends at midnight on Friday 24 October, meaning Suarez is free to play.

Suarez is widely regarded one of the finest players in world football, so far – he has made only one appearance for the Blaugrana against Leon in a pre-season friendly last month.
