Cristiano Ronaldo wants to return to Manchester United one day

Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo has revealed he would like to return to his former club Manchester United for second spell at some point in the future.

The Portuguese international enjoyed six successful seasons at Old Trafford between 2003 and 2009, before making his switch to La Liga giants Real Madrid in 2009.

The Red Devils have been struggling to find form since the departure of their manager Sir Alex Ferguson in 2013, but the 29-year-old insists that the 20 time League champions will be “a good team again”.

“I love Manchester,’ Ronaldo told the Daily Mail. “Everyone knows that – I have said it many times. Manchester is in my heart. I left many good friends there, the supporters are amazing and I wish I can come back one day.

“I am happy here in Real Madrid and have four more years, but in the future you never know because they treated me unbelievably there.

“I really did love being at Manchester United. Believe me, they will be a good team again. I’m sure of it. It is a great club.”

World Player of the Year Cristiano Ronaldo joined Real for a world-record £80m fee in 2009 after winning three Premier League titles, the FA Cup and a Champions League over a six-year stay at Old Trafford.
