Roger Federer to play at the Monte Carlo Masters

The Swiss star Roger Federer has accepted wild card invitation and will be playing in the Monte Carlo Masters for the first time since 2011.

Federer, 32, played his last Monte Carlo’s match in 2011, where he was defeated in the quarterfinals by Jurgen Melzer.

However, the 4-time Australian Open champion has never won in Monaco and he lost three consecutive Monte Carlo Masters finals to rival Rafael Nadal between 2006-08.

It will surely add some interest to the tournament with top seeds Rafael Nadal and the reigning champion of Monte Carlo Masters Novak Djokovic.

The tournament starts on Sunday, 13th April.
