Atletico Madrid are reportedly targeting a summer move to sign Liverpool loanee Pepe Reina to replace Thibaut Courtois, according to reports in El Confidencial.
Courtois, 21, who is currently serving his loan spell at Atletico from Chelsea and it is understood the La Liga leaders have started their hunt for another Goalkeeper in case the Belgian international moves back to his parent club at Stamford Bridge.
However, Atletico are interested to secure Courtois’s services on a permanent basis but Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is desperate to bring him back in west London for their next season.
The report claims Atletico manager Diego Simeone is keen on Liverpool stopper Pepe Reina, who is currently on loan to Napoli.
The 31-year-old Spaniard has still two years left on his contract at Anfield until 2016, with a release clause of £4.1m.
But it remains uncertain, on-loan Liverpool keeper would be willing to sacrifice first-team football at Italian side Napoli.
